David "Hack" Wilkins
The Vinatge Game

St. Louis Perfectos Base Ball Club
It took a visit to Dearborn, Michigan, and an Internet search for David "Hack"
Wilkins to become a member of the St. Louis Perfectos. Wilkins, a native of
Bardstown, Kentucky, saw a vintage game at the Henry Ford Museum in
Dearborn, Michigan. Going to school in St. Louis, he found the Perfectos on
the Internet. Wilkins, who has passed the Missouri Bar Exam and now
works at Brown & James, P.C., generally plays second tender or behind,
but has been known to try a different spot from time to time. Wilkins is a true
student of the game who has shown improvement since first donning the
Perfectos uniform. "I enjoy vintage baseball because It is a gentlemanly and
honorable sport that focuses on having fun and getting exercise," Wilkins
said. Besides playing base ball and practicing law, Wilkins has other
interests. He also has been a volunteer at the National Museum of Transit
at Barrett's Station in St. Louis County. Wilkins enjoys playing at Lafayette
Park. " I like playing in the historic neighborhood, and meeting the ballists
from other teams," stated Wilkins. "I enjoy the beautiful location, and the
support the neighborhood gives us." Other than Lafayette Park, Wilkins said
his favorite venues are Beautiful Turnbrough Field, home of the Rock
Springs Ground Squirrels, and the Muffin Meadow at Ohio Village in
Columbus, Ohio. During the summer of 2007, Wilkins participated in the
Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) event under the Arch.
There, he had the misfortune to be hit in the ribs by one of the hardest
pitches seen by a Perfectos ballist.
