Tony "Lightning" Wicker
St. Louis Perfectos Base Ball Club

To state that Tony "Lightning" Wicker was a pleasant surprise for the St.
Louis Perfectos in 2007 would be an understatement. Wicker was voted the
Perfectos rookie ballist of the year by his peers following the 2007 season.
Lightning quickly became a fixture a short scout within the lineup which
posted several solid victories down the stretch. Wicker was a key player to
help the Perfectos raise the Missouri Cup trophy and win other matches.
From Kirkwood, Wicker brings years of Little League and softball
experience to vintage base ball. He came to the Perfectos with Ed "Buffalo"
Nickels and his University City Lions program. In fact, Wicker
double-rostered with both clubs and likely will do the same in 2008. "I enjoy
vintage baseball because it is a gentleman's game," Lightning said. "You
meet a lot of nice people and I enjoy learning and playing the way the game
was played back in the olden days." Wicker said he enjoys travel and his
favorite road venue is Jacksonville, Illinois, because of the atmosphere and
Civil War events which take place there. Wicker loves playing in Lafayette
Park. " I enjoy playing the game in an atmosphere the way the game was
played back in the day; and, the amount of knowledge that the cranks have,"
Wicker said.
