Lafayette Park
St. Louis Perfectos Base Ball Club
An original Perfecto, Jimmy "Tree-Knocker" Keane was one of the club's
first heavy hitters back when the team called Tower Grove Park its home in
2002. Keane, who joined the club at its inception in 2002, has been a
member of the club ever since. Keane said he had good reasons to join the
team. "Rick 'Sting' Rea is married to my sister," Keane said. Rea was
another original Perfecto. Like the rest of the originals, Tree-Knocker was
happy to make the transition to Lafayette Park. "Authentic atmosphere and
enthusiasm," cited Tree-Knocker about what he likes about Lafayette Park.
Keane, of the Dogtown neighborhood, played Khoury League and CYC
baseball as a youth. With the Perfectos, he's comfortable at the short scout
position or tending second. Keane said he enjoys the road trips to the
small towns near St. Louis and likes playing in the parks in those towns.
Tree-Knocker said he enjoys vintage base ball because of the sound and
feel of the wooden bats.
